Hi! My name is Hannah Diaz. I am nineteen years old attending Texas State University. I’m majoring in Mass Communications with the hopes of becoming a Music Supervisor. For more information on myself, check out my Introductory post!
Have you ever been watching a movie and been captivated by the plot, cinematography, and the music in the background? Have you ever wondered what team of professionals help make decisions that tie the movie all together?
If you’re anything like me, you have wondered all of these things. Specifically, I wonder who picks the music for the background of movie scenes and how they make that choice. In this blog I will be taking popular/blockbuster movies and create my own soundtrack for them; just like the professionals! These professionals are called Music Supervisors.

A Music Supervisor is someone who picks different songs to be in movies, TV shows, and commercials. This job would be perfect for me because one of my favorite things to do is create playlists for any occasion or mood. I will be putting every soundtrack I make on my Spotify.
The Soundtracks I have made so far are the ones for the movies Coraline, Midsommar, The Perks of Being A Wallflower, Love, Simon, and After.
Each of these movies have something different to bring to the table; including the type of music, and genre of movie.
A big reason I decided to do this is for the experience. I’m hoping in the future I can present this blog to potential future employers as a sort of portfolio.
Not to mention, this blog is just a huge source of freedom and creativity! I am free to choose any movie to create a soundtrack for. If you ask me, what more could a girl want?
