From Me, to You

My name is Hannah Diaz. I am a 19-year-old Texas State Student studying Mass Communications in hopes to pursue a career in music media.

Being a 19-year-old woman in college with freedom, some of my favorite things to do are have fun with friends, paint in my art journal, and find new music on my Spotify. All of these things keep my life fun and interesting which is all anyone wants!

When I’m not doing any of those, you’ll usually find me at a local coffee shop completing my homework; or at my apartment’s clubhouse studying for quizzes and tests for my major related classes.

I chose to come to Texas State for my major after hearing about the amazing communications program from my older brother, who went to Texas State himself! After being here for more than a year, I do agree that Texas State is worthy of the brag.

I’m majoring in Mass Communications with the hopes of becoming a Music Supervisor. A Music Supervisor is someone who picks different songs to be in movies, TV shows, and commercials. This job would be perfect for me because one of my favorite things to do is create playlists for any occasion or mood.

By taking a Fundamentals of Digital and Online Media course here, I’m hoping my skills for technology and music supervision can sharpen and be ready for anything in the future!

To help myself with the journey of sharpening my skills I’ve chosen to make the subject of my blog related to the profession of a music supervisor.

In this blog I will be taking popular/blockbuster movies and create my own soundtrack for them; just like the professionals! In no way am I a professional, but I would love to walk a mile in their shoes by trying it out and discovering what it’s like. Hopefully, experiencing a little bit of what I want to do will only make me more excited for my future career
